
Is our perception of art expanding through the rise of #NFT artwork sales? Or rather, is our perception of what type of art has ‘value’ changing and expanding? Digital artists have historically received comparatively little respect. To the ‘tastemakers’ in the ‘traditional’ world of fine art, #digitalart has always felt more like design work, or a craft. And why would collectors pay for an image anyone could right-click on and download for free? Exceptions do exist and have always existed. Take for example @teamlab, a fascinating artist collective based in Japan (video above).Soaring #NFTartwork sales have definitely had an impact on the perceived value of digital art.
