
CONCLUSION PART 2: As for being a cash based society it annoyed me a bit because I would always gain a plethora of coins. I bought a small coin wallet, and that fixed the problem. As for the odd opening times for restaurants that is still a mystery for me. Despite this all of the pros overweighed the cons and I will be back to Japan for sure. Keep in mind that I came to Japan as a tourist, but in terms of quality of life I’d say public transportation had to be the best there. In New York I dread public transportation, but in Japan I felt happy about it. As for working here and mental health I have no idea. News outlets always overblow the negatives about Japan when it comes to work and life so I found it better to talk to friends in Japan and locals at bars. If you want to meet new people bars are your best bet. As for the language you can still get around without knowing any Japanese, but knowing a bit helps.
