This interactive installation artwork uses an accumulation of light points to create a sculptural body, similar to the way distinct dots of color form an image in a pointillist painting. The accumulation of lights in the three-dimensional space express elements of the natural world in this interactive installation.The Crystal World is created when people use their smartphones to send elements of the natural world into it. The seasons change gradually across the installation space.Flowers blossom according to the changing seasons, and the place where they grow gradually moves.The flowers bud, grow, and blossom before their petals begin to wither and eventually fade away. The cycle of growth and decay repeats itself in perpetuity. If a person stays still, the flowers surrounding them grow and bloom more abundantly. If viewers touch or step on the flowers, they shed their petals, wither, and die all at once.The artwork is not a pre-recorded image that is played back: it is created by a computer program that continuously renders the work in real time. The interaction between people and the installation causes continuous change in the artwork: previous visual states can never be replicated, and will never reoccur. Animals of Flowers Born in the Flower Forest, Symbiotic LivesAnimals that are born in the Flower Forest are made of the Flowers of the Forest. The flowers grow from the body of the animals, bloom, and in time there petals scatter, they wither and die. The cycle of life and death continues for eternity. When people touch the animals the flower petals scatter. If people touch the animals too much all the flowers will scatter, and the animals will die and fade away.The work is rendered in real time by a computer program.
