Visiting @teamlab_borderless was one of the highlights of last year’s Tokyo trip. Photos can’t do the exhibition justice, even though many go for this exact reason. Not going to lie, I was excited to get some cool photos but to go with the sole purpose of taking photos would mean missing out on the fully immersive experience where artists have made individual worlds existing in each room. There was one room filled with bean bags and waves crashing all around. I was surrounded by sounds of a raging storm yet felt calm and safe, like I was in the eye of a storm. Surreal.
